>> For the rest of April, the List theme is "what did my ancestors do and where did they work".<<< I don't neccessarily Know WHERE they worked, but I do know what they did, cos it says so on the censuses LOL My BLEWITTS were from Belbroughton, scythe makers, one line stayed there one line moved to Tipton working in the Iron foundries there as Puddlers, One son emigrated to the US, the other moved to Walsall, still working in Iron, until my grandfather who worked at Smiths Flour Mill on Wolverhampton Road, which at this very moment has scaffolding around it and is being converted into 122 "studio flats" Also in Belbroughton, were my TIMMINGS, Market Gardners, my great great great gandfather right up to the 1891 census just before his death. His son moved to Kings Norton then on To Walsall and was a Market Gardener, His daughter, my great grandmother continued as a Market Gardener, she lived in the cottage by Reedswood Park, a proper roses round the door place! (got a pic of that!) talking to one of my mom friends he remembers my great granma well, his mum used to send him to the cottage to get veg and eggs! he tells me they "fed" the area during the 2nd world war LOL by the time my great Grandmother was living in the Cottage she was Mrs BLEWITT! There is nothing to suggest that the famillies knew each other from Belbroughton but it wasn't that big a place back then! Mellie How Come My Coat Of Arms Has Buckles At The Back?
