Hi All, I have tried to locate a copy of the marriage certificate for the above couple from information and dates shown in the IGI. However, I haven't had any luck. The Certificate guy tells me that there was no such marriage on the given date in the Dudley area. I have it shown in the IGI as being 28 February, 1825. However, Dudley this does not appear to be where the couple married. If he were born in the Tipton area, where would they have been most likely to marry? Does anyone out there have any other information on this couple? I do know they were married since I have a copy of the death certificate for Sarah. Any clue as to where their marriage took place, would be welcomed. Perhaps West Brom? But if it was W.Brom wouldn't that be in the Dudley area Registers? Thanks in advance, Marion
Hi Marion, Civil registration did not start until 1837 so there are no marriage certificates available before that date. best wishes, Chris ----- Original Message ----- From: "Centric" <centric@rea-alp.com> To: <ENG-BLACK-COUNTRY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, April 16, 2006 2:13 PM Subject: [B.C.] James PLANT & Sarah JEWKES > Hi All, > I have tried to locate a copy of the marriage certificate for the above > couple from information and dates shown in the IGI. Hello Marion, Having had a look at the entry on the IGI, I see that the date has been submitted by an LDS member. Be very wary of the dates submitted by a member, I have found quite a few who have stated the wrong month and even the wrong year.
