Yes! If you have only found one possible person who could be a specific ancestor remember there may be others hiding in some cupboard somewhere ... Never presume they're a daughter son mother father etc on a cenus. They could be an in law or uncle aunt niece or nephew. Never presume they're your great great grandma or granddad, they could be a cousin with the same name and almost same year of birth. You can't even take the names on the marriage certificate as gospel! I sent for the marriage certificate of my gg grandmother Hannah Shilton to Joseph Humphries/Humphreys in 1850. Her name was listed as Harriet Shelton. On every census from 1841 - 1901 her name was Hannah. I then sent for her younger sister Elizabeth's birth certificate to confirm her father's name was Samuel Shilton & not Shelton. The only major fair held in the BC is on 9th April at Dunstall Racecourse. Wolverhampton, 10 - 5. Free car parking and a cafe onsite, even a bar if you fancy a pint. The organiser is thinking of dropping this fair from the circuit because over ther last 2 years attendance by the public has dropped so use it or loose it. There's still a full compliment of stall holders and F.H.S.'s attending. Stalls will be there selling, Books, Postcards, Maps, CD's, Census, Microfiche, Charts, Storage Items, to name but a few, F.H.S's and the Records Office will also be there for help & look ups etc. including the S.O.G. not only will their bookstall be there but also the S.O.G computer help team manned by famous names like John Hanson and Jean Bunting. They will help you with any look ups you care to name as they have full online access to all known databases. Just about everything you can think of to do with Family History will be represented. We have some half price entry tickets available, they will get you in for £1 instead of £2. A maximum of 5 per person please. Send a stamped S.A.E. with a note to say how many you want to us at.
