Ancestry have indexed all births now, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem to find. I have looked at the buriel records for Dudley and it would seem that John was born in 1902 - Clara Walker, who is buried with him, died in 1956 and it Aged 76 - this would mean she was born in 1881 - is this his mother?
