THIS IS THE MESSAGE FROM THE GOB SITE I did get the notifications last night around 11pm that bulk comments had been made, as you say there were around 150 plus of them. I attempted to remove the member and their comments to find I had been beaten to it so tar me wench for being so quick off the mark. The Gallery security is tight in order to prevent any malicious damage to the images which is why we could solve the issue pretty much instantly but the forum is even tighter. 1) Each account that is opened has to go through TWO captcha screens. These are the number /letter screens that prove you are human and not an automated spammer. 2) Whilst the account is being set up the IP address is checked against our forum files automatically and also those of an international spam system called stop that spam. If the account is on that list then it is flagged to me and refused entry. 3)IF your account is allowed then your account is flagged as a new account. this is then monitored for a period of time to ensure you are not a spammer/hacker and to see your intentions towards the forum. 4) As a new account there are limits placed on your account such as using PM's, posting signatures, posting images sharing data. 5) For all members and staff there is the automatic spam filter which scans every single post or PM for words or phrases which are logged into the spam filter. If any of these phrases appear then the post is disallowed until it is checked. 6) The forum is automatically backed up each day so that we have a record of the most recent version of the forum and with over 25,000 posts thats no mean feat. It's a sad world when you need to do all of this on just a small community forum but as we all know if we don't we could well end up losing everything so it may be a pain to join us, it may be that your post gets rejected every now and then for something silly and it may be that you fall victim of our forum rules sometimes but in the end it's only here to protect the forum. Life is not about winning
