    3. Cassy: I think you're thinking of the Tabernacle Schools, which were linked to the Methodist New Connexion chapel of the same name. Paul PS: My mother's family of Beresfords lived in Stone Street too. ----- Original Message ----- From: "cassy" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Cc: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, July 07, 2009 9:56 PM Subject: Re: [Black Country] Oldbury senior schools > Hi All >>From what I was told there was a pub called the Tabinock? > not sure of the correct name right at the top end of Oldbury > it was knocked down when Savercenter was built and I believe > the school had the same name , but I am going on what someone told me > so I cant be 100% sure > Cheers > Cassy > Assistant Admin Black Country > Potteries, and Wolverhampton Lists > ----- Original Message ----- > From: <[email protected]> > To: "cassy" <[email protected]> > Cc: <[email protected]> > Sent: Tuesday, July 07, 2009 9:06 PM > Subject: Re: [Black Country] Oldbury senior schools > > >> On 07 Jul, cassy <[email protected]> wrote: >>> Hi All Not sure if I have asked this question before , but during the >>> war years my grandmother went to live with her sister in Law at Stone >>> Street Oldbury and my father went to the local senior school but not >>> sure which one I know that one school was Albrights , but I have been >>> told recently that at the top of Oldbury where Savercenter is, there >>> was a school there right by the old Oldbury Town Hall ,can anyone >>> confirm this or tell me if it was a senior school Cheers Cassy >>> Assistant Admin Black Country >>> Potteries, and Wolverhampton Lists >> >> Well the old Oldbury Technical School was on Flash Road before it >> relocated >> to Pound Road, but Flash Road wasn't by the Town Hall.
