Has anyone encountered a couple named Matthew & Hannah Robinson in Black Country parish records from the early-mid 18thCentury? They baptised a daughter, Hannah, in 1725 at St Johns, Halesowen: they were described then as of Warley Wigorn. I assume it was this Hannah (the daughter) who married in Halesowen in 1745 Matthew Robinson was also a witness of a marriage in 1755 at the same church. The bride at this wedding was a Mary Robinson, who may have been his daughter or other relative, though I’ve not discovered her baptism to prove this. Matthew signed the marriage register in a clear, copperplate script. I’ve been unable to discover Matthew’s (or his wife’s) baptism, marriage or burial in records I’ve access to. Thanks for any information Geoff.
