Well, as an avid list reader, but not too often a contributer I apologise for not emailing more. Thing is, I love reading everyone's emails and queries and often reply off list if I can help so as not to bog down the list with topics that might not be of interest to others. But will enter more into joining in. Saying that, becoming the Staffs FreeREG coordinator takes up most of the spare time that I have and I will always put on the lists anything I think will be of interest or necessity (eg, March update details coming on over the weekend) So let me share this with you all as I'm certain you'll know exactly how my sister and I felt yesterday. Christine B was utterly wonderful and spent the morning with my sister and I, taking us round Sedgely pointing out areas of interest re our family search there. And to see in the church exactly where he and his family sat in their pew box was very special. And the real highlight was to go down into the crypt (surprisingly warm!) and actually be on the other side of a brick wall and only inches away from the remains of our relatives, Dr Anthony Tamlyn and family. Cannot tell you what that felt like and how privileged we are to have been that close to them physically. Does that make sense?!! Then our first visit to Dudley RO and found out - at last! exactly where their house had been situated in the High Street and saw building plans for it. (and at £35 annual rateable value was a VERY spiffy house!) So a truly memorable day and all thanks to a very special lister - Christine B. Our frustration of never findingany photos of him, his family or the house knows no bounds, but I think thats a feeling common to all of us! PS. I need more transcribers for Staffs please!!!
