Oh, fudge! Western Union can't issue a money order in pounds, but can deliver it to a bank account. The Probate Registry says they cannot be reached by phone, so to write them with questions. No bank account numbers given. Even if I had their account numbers, I'm told I would have to call that bank to see what they charge for cashing such money orders. So Western Union is out. The Post Office in Windsor, Canada says they issue money orders in Canadian and American money only. Looks like I'm back to square one. They could surely collect more money if they allowed credit or debit cards. OK. Do you have relatives in the UK? It might be possible to enlist their aid. E.g. they accept a Western Union transfer in US dollars. It is then converted into pounds. And on your behalf they then place the order for the will. If you don't have rellies we do have excellent listers who I am sure would be more than happy to help out. I had a somewhat similar experience many years ago when I contacted a genealogist on the Birmingham List who was coming to Nova Scotia. She was gracious enough to buy the will copy, brought it over.....and Bob's your uncle. I would hate to see you have to travel to Canada just to do something that should be oh so simple. Problem in the US is that their banking system isn't exactly the most sophisticated in the world. You should have emigrated to Canada <LOL!!!!!!>.
