Could someone please do a look-up for me. I'm trying to locate where one of my ancestors lived at the time of the 1881 census. The info on Familysearch shows their location as Ulet Hall, Alveley, Shropshire. I can't find this on any of the old maps, please could you confirm this has been transcribed correctly. The details are: RG11 2631/34 Page 7 The head of the family is William ROWLEY. Many thanks for your help. Regards, Geoff
Geoff, My guess is that the "Ulet Hall" is actually "Howlet Hall". See old OS Map :- http://www.old-maps.co.uk/maps.html?txtXCoord=377642&txtYCoord=285053 If you walk the route of names on the census pages, Harts Green, Heath Farm and so on you will pass Howlet Hall, which bears a colloquial similarity to Ulet Hall.?
