Time travel is theoretically possible (backwards only). As physicists would say it is simply a matter of engineering. As for the diseases.....just get up to date on your shots- smallpox, diphtheria, tetanus, measles, rubella, mumps, etc. And also a good supply of antibiotics- both oral and injectables. As far as language goes that might not be too bit of a problem. I can recall as a Canadian teenager (but born in Ramsgate) being plunked down in New Invention, Willenhall and while the accents were thick and the slang hard to follow things were not incomprehensible once I got them to talk slowly and explain the slang.
