Cassy: Proof! In 1841 Hannah HUSTLEBURY has a Drusilla HUSTLEBURY aged 23 living with her, obviously a daughter. And at Dudley St Thomas the IGI has: 24 Nov 1816 Drusilla, of Josh and Susanna HUSALBA, bap There's more. In 1804 at Dudley St Thomas theres the baptism of Ann, daughter of Joseph and Hannah HUSSELBY. This neatly fills the gap in the baptisms of the children of Joseph and Susannah HUSSELBY, which were in 1798, 1800, 1802, 1807, 1809, 1812, 1814. I rest my case! Hi Yorkie I have no idea what Susannah name was before her marriage to Joseph Husselby Have looked and looked , but the first child she had was Harriet Husselby who was christened at St Thomas in 1798, she married Benjamin Cash is 1818 at St Thomas Dudley The Husselby's family seemed to come from Kingswinford but seemed to have had most of there wedding and christens at Dudley Cheers Cassy ----- Original Message ----- From: <AYorkie19@aol.com> To: <eng-black-country@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, August 05, 2011 7:37 AM Subject: Re: [Black Country] Susannah Husselby look up please > Cassy me to! Cassy OK, found her in 1841. Will try to send the image directly to you but for the benefit of anyone else looking, she's in The Back, Dudley, listed as Hannah HUSTLIBURY aged 60, independent, born in county. With her is a 26 year old Drusilla HUSTLIBURY, seamstress, born in county, and a couple of lodgers. That would tie in with a baptism at St Thomas' Dudley 24 Nov 1816 of Drusilla, daughter of Josh. & Susanna HUSALBA. Just seen Polly's reply about the name so this one looks like a good bet. Hi Tracy and Cassy Hannah and Susannah are often used interchangeably by the same person, so this is probably the marriage that you are seeking. Hi Linda Thanks for your advice. I have just found a 'live' relative connected to this couple, and they are going to do some 'digging around' for me. Thank you so much for your help and Velda too. Jo
Hi Jo, as Velda said the address of Jane's place of death should be on her death certificate, also an informant, do you have that? I would think that any Private Nursing Homes would be listed in either Kelly's Directory or the Post Office Directory, I don't have them for that time period, maybe someone else on here can check the Trade Directories for circa 1908. You can try the Worcs list, but Dudley was/is the heart of the Black Country. Hope this helps. Hi Linda and Velda Thankyou for your replies.. Jane Garratt's 1901 Census is as follows William Garratt Head 65 Labourer born Germany Jane Garratt Wife 62 born Germany Address 3d Holland St Parish Dudley Ecclesiastical Parish St Lukes Jane Garratt's death certificate - died 27/12/1908 of Morbus Cordis Exhaustion. I am going by what was said in a letter that was found written by one of her grandchildren who said Jane Garratt's husband William put her into a private nursing home because of her drinking. Do you think I would be better off posting this on the Worcestershire List. Thank you Jo Australia ________________________________ ------------------------------------- The only List that specifically covers the whole of the Black Country.
