I haven't done anything on my Fereday line since, well a long time, just had a look and not sure where he fits in, my Fereday's start at Nancy b abt 1805, married to Richard Cleaver, they lived in Tipton and had children around the time that your william and charlotte did.nancy's parents were Edward Fereday and Isabella Cranney also from tipton. Mellie" Hi Mellie & Wanda, I also have some FEREDAY's in my family tree. My great grandfather, Henry Francis ARNOLD's mother Esther (nee WHILE) died 07 January 1847 @ Low Green, Tipton. when he was less than 2 years old. His father, John ARNOLD, widower 30 yrs, remarried to Rebecca FEREDAY, spinster 24 yrs, on 23 December 1849 @ The Parish Church, Dudley, Worcestershire. On their marriage cert, the fathers are recorded as Isaac ARNOLD (engineer) & Richard FEREDAY, deceased (miner). In 1851 census, John & Rebecca ARNOLD (both born Sedgely, Staffordshire) were living in Waterloo St, Tipton. (1851 Staffordshire Census - HO107/2029 Registration District: Dudley, Sub-Registration District: Tipton, Enumeration District: 1f, Folio 188, Page 39) In 1861 John & Rebecca ARNOLD were living in High St, Tipton, with Henry Francis 15, plus 3 children of their's, Eliza 9, Samuel 4 & Elizabeth 2. (1861 Staffordshire Census - RG9/2041 Registration District: Dudley, Sub-Registration District: Tipton, Enumeration District: 3, Folio 59, Page 5) I wonder if Richard FEREDAY & his daughter Rebecca are related to any of your FEREDAY's? Kind regards, Malcolm Carr (Christchurch, New Zealand) .

    3. Wanda or Lois in particualr: have either of you got anything on william Ferriday (fereday) b abt 1740 and Elizabeth Woodall other than their b m and d's and the date of Williams will? ie children? I just did a quick IGI on them and there is nothing when i used the name woodall, but william and elizabeth results in 8 matches, in the time span 1761 to 1781, 3 of whom are 3 seperate Racheals! which tells me there were 2 or 3 william and elizabeths at the same time in tipton. so these "8" matches can't be determined as belonging to this particular william and elizabeth! wonder if you have any PR info on them that confirms any children as theirs? williams parents are thomas fereday adn Racheal Darbey, so its very likely that one of the racheals belongs to my william and elizabeth! back to the drawing board~ and back another genreation see if I can put anything in there! 1. ROLL CALL ~ Mellie Being serious!
    2. Mellie
    3. It doesn't happen often so take heed! whilst we are doing roll calls and swapping info back and forth in the true spirit of genealogy, and there are, as always new listers, who may not be aware of certain facets of family history, can we just take a minute to think about "netiqette" and "courtesy" I have had cause to explain a bit about this to someone just today, in the context of information in other peoples trees that you receive. I am going to say this in the first person, because these are my own personal feelings on the matter, and lucky for me they coincide with "N&C" If I have given to you any part of my family tree, I expect you to treat the information contained with respect, and me with courtesy, I will have told you that you can reproduce any part of my own information ie personal information about ME, I am an open book and have no problem with it, I have no problem with you sharing the information with others, however, If you are going to reproduce this information into the public domain, ie: the internet ~ your own web site or a web site that you have subscribed to, where the information can be viewed by anyone, please remember that there will be information contained in the tree that OTHER living people in that tree may not wish to be made public AND THEY HAVE NOT GIVE YOU PERMISSION TO DISCLOSE IT. in the case of web sites that you subscribe to, you may be making the information "theirs". some web sites only allow people to view trees by your invitation, which isn't so bad, however you donlt know what is going to happen to the in! formation afterwards, and you still dont have permission! In the case of familysearch.org my rellies, alive or dead, will be sealed to the mormon temple, which is why they gather the information from parish registers in the first place and it can be very difficult to get them removed, and a persons religious affilliation is their own personal affair. for my own part I can state, that I have NEVER entered my own or any other persons information onto ANY website, of ANY description, your information has remained with me, and been shared only with my co-researcher, or other actual family members who are also researching when we have swapped current info. Most often I will have directed you to the person who supplied me with the information in the first place if it is not my own, hence "the boxes". People can become very upset, and very angry when they find that information about them is in the public domain without their consent, causing people distress is NOT what family history is about. If you find your information online, along with my own, I can assure you that it wasn't put there by me! Be careful what you do with mine, and other peoples hard work and years of research, if family historians find their work, and moreover their live rellies online it could prevent them from ever sharing information again, to the detriment of the world of genealogy as a whole. Before anyone tells me that I should take out the living details, and replace their names etc with the word "living", yes that can be done, but if "N & C" are followed then this wouldn't be necessary, and common sense should prevail, with the courtesy of asking the person beofre you reproduce THEIR tree! I will continue to share whatever informaion I have with any interested persons, I will continue NOT to reproduce any of it online in the public or private domain. thats it folks, bear it in mind please, and happy hunting, my soapbox session is over, I will now return to being the joker in the pack as well as a certificate holding family historian. thank you for taking time out to read Mellie How Come My Coat Of Arms Has Buckles At The Back?
