Hi Gill, Thanks for the reply.Wilkinson was my grandmother's maiden name, and she was born at Wordsley, but I'm not sure whether the family always lived there. Her mother was Louisa Wilkinson, born abt 1878.I'm having trouble tracing her. Green was my gt grandparents on my mother's side and they are a Brierley Hill family. Regards Sue. -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Hi Patsy, I have Sarah SKELDON (c1835 Rowley Regis/Netherton). On the 1861 census she is living in Titford Lane, Oldbury. By that time she was Sarah HUGHES and although her condition is entered as "married" she is living with her mother (her husband is not there) on the night of the census. I have no trace of her after that. Would you know whether she in anyway connects with your HUGHES family in Oldbury? My Maria used all three spelling variations before her 18th birthday! She was born Maria PURCELL in 1861. Parents Samuel and Rebecca nee WESTLEY who both originally hailed from Buckinghamshire. Maria married Harry SMITH in 1878 in West Bromwich. I have a photograph of Maria on her 95th birthday being presented with a bouquet from the Mayor of West Bromwich because she was officially the towns oldest resident. I know that Maria had at least one brother called Thomas who was born in 1864.
