    3. I have just found my Hayward's on the 1861 census on 1837online.com They have a child not previously known to my family of Frederick born 1857 (2 years before the wedding marriage in June 1859. Both parties were given as bachelor/spinster. The child Frederick is not on the 1871 census with the family in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Could he have been working or died? Eliza's maiden name was Underhill (corrupted to Hundrell in Sheffield on her son Harry's birth certificate. I have found a possible birth/christening record on the IGI on familysearch.org of 1 Feb 1857 Droitwich, Worcestershire for Frederick UNDERHILL, with mother only recorded but no corresponding death/burial record. 1861 census – household transcription Address: Hanbury Road, St Peter, Droitwich Name Relationship to Head of H'hold Condition Sex Age Profession/Occupation, Disability Where Born ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --- HAYWARD, Thomas Head Married M 26 Labourer Over Norton Oxfordshire HAYWARD, Eliza Wife Married F 27 Hanbury Worcestershire HAYWARD, Frederick Son M 4 Droitwich Worcestershire HAYWARD, William Thomas Son M 0 (8M) Droitwich Worcestershire HARBER, William Boarder Married M 42 Labourer Hanbury Worcestershire ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- RG number:RG09 Piece:2111 Folio:40 Page:26 Registration District: Droitwich Sub District:3 Droitwich EnumerationDistrict:2 Ecclesiastical Parish: Civil Parish:St Peter Municipal Borough:Droitwich Address: Hanbury Road, St Peter, Droitwich Any help would be appreciated. 3. Hi Tony. We may have connected before as I have Coopers in Bilston at least between 1820 and 1850 and probably earlier as well as later. I would like to learn more about George Cooper, his family, their ancestors and descendants. Hopefully some are still in the area and curious too. Occupation appears to be Coal Master for a time and Iron Monger. Any chance your Cotterills ever go by Cottrell? Post a note and let's check it out. Well, the only Coalville I know is in Leicestershire, and Shargreen could well be Shiregreen which is in North Nottinghamshire: both are coal mining communities as well as being rural. -- Chris Ramsbottom researching: BARRATT, DANCER, FELLOWS, GOODES, ROBINSON, TUCKLEY, WHEWAY MAHER all in and around Birmingham/Smethwick, 1850 to present day

    3. Thanks Patsy, for your email and for all the information to help me look for a connection. I took a look on the 1851 census at your two "brothers" to see if I could spot a link between them for you. As you know husbands often named their first born son after their own fathers. Unfortunately, there was no match on that score here, though it is possible that William and Deborah at 36/37 may well have had a son before the 12yo entered on the census. Each of the two families did have the wife's mother living with them. Now if each would've had the head's own mother living with them.. Best wishes, Chris ----- Original Message ----- From: "ROGER" <roger@rhmiddleton.fsnet.co.uk> To: <ENG-BLACK-COUNTRY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, March 07, 2006 6:23 PM Subject: [B.C.] Re: Roll Call / HUGHES of Oldbury > Hello Chris > > I can't say for the moment if Sarah of Titford Lane is one of ours. > If I come across her I'll let you know. > > On the '61 I have Thomas and Abigail and their brood of 8 in Simpson St. Oldbury. > Their eldest David married Sarah Ann Hinton. > Their eldest William married Lydia Crump. > One of theirs, Jesse married Martha Davies their only being Jesse Robert Hughes, daddy of mine. > All in and around Oldbury/Langley/Rounds Green. > > Also on the '61 are William and Deborah Hughes and their brood of similar size in Oldbury Rd. > I've got a sneaking suspicion that Thomas and William are brother or cousins but haven't yet proved it. > They both give Burton upon Trent as place of birth (at certain times, although randomly Oldbury and Derbyshire at other times) > Coincidence is not impossible but I'd love to prove otherwise. > I suppose the wedding certs or parish register entries will show if they have the same father. > This comes under the heading of 'stuff to do' > > All the best > Patsy > > > ==== ENG-BLACK-COUNTRY Mailing List ==== > The Assistant List Admins are Jean Morgan and Jan Ross > (Couldn't do it without those two great ladies) > >

    3. Hello Chris I can't say for the moment if Sarah of Titford Lane is one of ours. They both give Burton upon Trent as place of birth (at certain times, although randomly Oldbury and Derbyshire at other times) Coincidence is not impossible but I'd love to prove otherwise. I suppose the wedding certs or parish register entries will show if they have the same father. This comes under the heading of 'stuff to do' All the best Patsy
