Hi I have a Thomas Mallen who was a Haberdasher in Old Hill. His business opened around 1850 and closed in about 1890. He married Maria Hazelhurst. She was daughter of John Hazelhurst b Dawley and later a Haberdasher in Quarry Bank. I do not have bmd dates on Thomas but have many docs from his business. Thomas and Maria had children obne of whom was a Florence who married into the Parkes family of Sedgley. Of these I have quite a lot. Cheers Roger Thomspon.

I wonder if anyone is researching a WILKS/WILKES family and has found the baptism of a Betsey born 1846-1848? If you have I would be so pleased to hear from you. Betsey was illegitimate and on different census returns she gives her birthplace as Dudley, Hall Green and Sedgley. She was Betsey in 1871 and on her marriage certificate but she became Elizabeth on her son's birth certificate and later censuses. I haven't managed to find her on the IGI or on the 1851/61 censuses. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks, Maureen
