Friends I have in my Tree - several females named FANNY, from those who were baptised Fanny, to those for whom it was a nickname - e.g. HANNAH, ANNA, Anne. I have one in fact who was in 1868 Registered and Baptised as Hannah - on Census and married as Anne, and for the Births/Baptisms of all her children, later Census and her Death Cert ,was listed as FANNY !! Have never located her Mother's baptism know the surname, but forename given on Census is Fanny and cannot locate any likely candidate.
