    3. My Grandmother used to roll a cube of butter in sugar and make you suck it for a cough. It worked in as much as you dared not cough again for fear of getting another one. Also, she used to keep a pot of tea simmering on the stove until it was nicely stewed, and then add a good dollop of Carnation evaporated milk.Sickly or what? 3. Thank you to Nancy & John for their messages re Isaiah Burkitt GRIFFITHS b. 1855 Wednesbury; the brother of my husband's Grandfather Isaac Burkitt GRIFFITHS (tube welder). A cousin had told us that Isaiah & Isaac had planned to emigrate to Canada or the US but Isaac's wife Elizabeth refused to leave Staffordshire. Nancy has found Isaiah on the later census so that has put paid to the idea of emigration. It is good to get things sorted. Thanks again Pat.

    3. Hello Marion, Having had a look at the entry on the IGI, I see that the date has been submitted by an LDS member. Be very wary of the dates submitted by a member, I have found quite a few who have stated the wrong month and even the wrong year.
