Glad to hear from you Christine , I myself have not had the opportunity to do much research yet at all , just observing so far , but what I have been given by others looks like my Nicholls family stayed around Swalcliffe area at least from 1800 ... and the name is in village records from 1500's as is noted in Swalcliffe Barn Museum .
