From the book *Aynho a Northamptonshire Village* by Nicholas Cooper ISBN 0 904920 09 7 * Some emigrants were men of enterprise, & the village was probably poorer by their departure. Abraham HOWES, for instance, who left with his family in 1845, was able to finally settle as a farmer on a hundred acres of his own land near Winnipeg. It was not until the second world war that his ancestors re-visited the village of Aynho* They might fit Mark - so worth typing:>) Angela:>) Admin Banbury List
Thanks everyone that replied to where AYNHO is located. I think the Mary Ann that the discussion started about would be a Howe(s) and not a Hone. Also list have been looking at the Canadian Census site link provided by Frances Bishop - what an excellent site the census even gives the date of birth and the year of immigration......
