Thanks folks, you came up trumps there! To respond to some points: Bill:- Thanks for the MIDWINTER's, Amy's marriage to Isaac WEBB in 1868 suggests she was born around 1847, but no bap. entry in Kirtlington. As a boat family, I know well what that means, she could have been baptised anywhere up the canal, though most seemed to return to a particular parish for this, but not exclusively. Denise:- I did know the RANDLE's came from Coventry, a cousin of mine who is a descendant of Millicent SKUCE (mentioned elsewhere in replies - see also below) had some information on them, they were in the Weaving or spinning industry around Shutford Barb: I have Millicent and Mary SKUCE recorded from the Methodist records, they were two of my Grandmothers sisters. Mary died as a child, but Milly as she was known, moved to Crowhurst in Sussex. I met her once when she was about 90, she was marvellous woman. The man she married, she had nursed his sick wife, and was, from what I can gather, the unofficial nurse of the village, doing many good deeds. Thank you all again Neil
