Hi Everyone Risking being labelled PEDANTIC as well as as VERY ODD BOD please may I gently point out that people are ------HANGED--------but pheasants and other meats are HUNG! Now mutter to yourselves that I am being insufferable----I wouldn't blame you, but it is something that gets me "Right ----there" I could scream and kick! The same happens when Kiwi News reporters give an extra syllable to several words in common use-----grrr! I like English! The same emotions, only less violent, happen when I am coping with the American massacre of such spellings as "color' for "colour" etc. and I give wails of anguish when lovely words like foetus and diarrhoea get mangled! Please excuse the lack of Banbury historical topic---except for the highwaymen and other local criminals,---(-including the poor souls who fell politically foul of someone), got HANGED. Mind you I shouldn't fancy being "hanged drawn and quartered" either, but I may be in great danger of being so if I don't go back into my Antipodean hibernating phase right now!
