My gggrandfather William Walker was publican and baker at the Three Pigeons from 1844 to 1867. It was listed in various records as Neithrop and North Bar, Banbury. Is this the same Three Pigeons that still exists today? And is it still in operation? Several of my family are planning a visit to UK next June and we would like to visit this pub if it's the correct one. William Walker then moved to the Buck & Bell for several years before dying unexpectedly in 1869. I understand the Buck & Bell recently closed. Linda **************Looking for love this summer? Hello Linda, Yes, both 'pubs' are still there, BUT, the Buck and Bell your William Walker was Licenee of was Not the Buck and Bell you refer to that has now closed. Your William was the Licensee of the Buck and Bell at 39 Parson Street, where as the present Buck and Bell is in North Bar. 39 Parson Street, (was Parsons Lane), is still standing, so can still be visited. If of any help, I can be found at the local Study Centre on Wednesday and Friday afternoons, so if convient, please let me know when you visit, and I will willingly, help you out if required. My pleasure. Enjoy Life. Never promise, but will always try.
