On 9 September 1953, Motor Launch Tamar on patrol in the Pearl River off Hong Kong was fired on by a Chinese Communist Ship.   Amongst those killed was Able Seaman Reginald G Morris SSX 835915 and it is possible that he was from King’s Sutton. The name R Morris appears on the War Memorial in the village where it states: Killed in Action in Hong Kong area 1953 Can anyone recall this event please and connect it to Banburyshire?
