Hi All, Thanks to Kim & Barbara I have found out more on the Alfred Wrighton that is a bit of a mystery on our war memorial. Military #12835 this is definite. He was born in Halton Warwickshire in 1891 in the Sept quarter. What I need now is the day and month if possible, but most importantly his parents, so that I may link him back to Aynho, and the reason for being on the memorial. I don't have any access to anything in Warks. Thanks in advance Dawn PS I am going to Magdalen College archives on Thursday to check on the hospital that was in Aynho from 1140 to 1485. I am hoping to get names of people that lived in and around Aynhoe during that time, who donated to the hospital. They apparently have extensive records on those. Considering we only know of the current village and it's inhabitants going back to 1640 this could be interesting what names turn up! I will keep you posted on what turns up. Dawn
