    3. Dawn you are probably looking for the Alfred Wrighton who appears on the 1901 census living in Northampton, born in SHREWLEY, which is a small hamlet near HATTON (not HALTON) near Warwick...I have driven past the turn off for Shrewley lots of times. Isn't there a Mouse end near there too ? or am I just getting old and forgetful? Anyway. his parents were Thomas H (Driver of a Road Steam Roller!) and Eleanor. Thomas was born in Thornton, Buckinghamshire and Eleanor in Tingewick. The children seem to have been born all over the place so maybe he got around a bit on his steam roller. Military #12835 this is definite.> He was born in Halton Warwickshire in 1891 in the Sept quarter. What I need now is the day and month if possible, but most importantly his parents, so that I may link him back to Aynho, and the reason for being on the memorial. I don't have any access to anything in Warks.> Thanks in advance> Dawn> PS I am going to Magdalen College archives on Thursday to check on the hospital that was in Aynho from 1140 to 1485. I am hoping to get names of people that lived in and around Aynhoe during that time, who donated to the hospital. They apparently have extensive records on those. Considering we only know of the current village and it's inhabitants going back to 1640 this could be interesting what names turn up!> I will keep you posted on what turns up.> Dawn> ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~> Banbury Historical Society & Friends of Banbury Museum> http://www.cherwell-dc.gov.uk/banburymuseum/banburyhistoricalsoc.cfm> -------------------------------> To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
