    3. William BERRY married Jane WADDONS, lived in Appletree, and apparently produced 9 children: John 1782, Thomas 1784, Hannah 1786, William 1789, Rebecca 1791, Jane 1793, Martha 1795, Thomas 1803 and Harriet 1805. These are baptismal dates from the Aston le Walls register which also confirms the parental names. My concern centres on the two boys named Thomas. The Thomas born in 1784 survived until 1856 and was my ancestor. Why would another son subsequently receive the same name as a living sibling? The early date dates easily precedes the general introduction of two first names. The second Thomas was apparently born to a mother aged 56 years. Long in fecundity but short in memory? The first Thomas married in Appletree during 1806 to Hannah FARMER. The second Thomas appears in no record other than his baptism. Is it possible that the first Thomas was baptised again three years before his marriage? What about sister Harriet, born later to a mother 56 years in age? -- Joe Connell Firefox & Thunderbird portals Sunbelt & Avast protection

    3. Hi Joe, The OFHS Cropredy PR's show; 12 May 1780 BERRY William of Prescot Psh Cropredy WADDOMS Jane Psh Cropredy wit: Robert LEDBROOK Timothy HUNT lic. William & Jane were not baptised in Cropredy. But you already have this. I have some WADHAMS in my lines. Haven't got Jane, though. There are several WADDAMS/WADHAMS in (OFHS) Adderbury, including 7 Nov 1756 WADHAMS Jane d John & Hannah. This Jane would be 49 when Harriet was born. I haven't been able to find another William & Jane marriage that would confirm 2 different Wm & Janes baptising children in Appletree, but most of my source data is for OXF not NTH. I did find that Harriet marr Robert KIGHTLEY in Aston Le Walls on 22 Mar 1829. And in (OFHS) 1851Chipping Warden Census HO 107/1734 folio 179 KITELEY Robert HD m 44 Ag Lab NTH Chipping Warden " Harriett WI m 45 " Appletree " William SO u 17 Ag Lab " Chipping Warden " Thomas SO 13 " " " " Robert SO 11 " " " " Jane DA 8 " " " " Fredrick SO 6 " " " folio 173 BERRY Thomas HD m 47 Thatcher NTH Chipping Warden " Sarah WI m 56 " " " " John SO u 19 Thatcher " " " " William SO u 12 " " " " Edwin GS 3 " " " IF.......this Thomas was baptised in Appletree, and is Harriet's brother (another big IF), then there may be another William & Jane in Chipping Warden. Just throwing out thoughts! Swerford PR's has a note about a woman having a baby at age 50! But 56.....naaa! Goodnight, I'm getting rummy.
