Hi Barbara, I have the OFHS CD's that cover the Banbury area (including the 4 villages you mention) and think they are excellent value for money. They are typed transcripts and each parish has a surname index. I couldn't find out what to expect with them on the website. Are they transcribed or the actual images of the pages? I've been through a few films from the LDS and couldn't find the parishes I need (Horley & Hornton). The parishes I'm interested in are Hornton, Horley, Alkerton & Shenington these look like they're on the Banbury No.3 CD . I'd love for anyone to give me some feedback on these CDs. Hi Judy and Barbara, I used those materials in their book form at Banbury Library a couple of times when I was in the UK and found them very helpful. But a caution - the transcriptions are not perfect; I found a few errors, in particular, don't rely on the surname indexes; if the name you are looking for is not on the surname index, search your desired village anyway - I came up lucky doing that. All the same, a great resource; what an important job all these family history society folks do for all of us! Thank you so much Judy, they sound like they're just what I need, I thought that is what they'd be but wasn't sure. What a great resource the teams of volunteer transcribers have made available to us! A big thank you to them all!!
