Thank you Angela, Shawnna & Judy for your advice on the CD roms, it's always good to ask! I take in what you say about the state of some of the original registers! I've just had 2 films out from the LDS and most of the pages were so bad, I suppose they were covered in mould? I couldn't even tell if the records I wanted were on the film. However, considering how old the books are and they were probably just stacked in an old, damp cupboard, we really are lucky to get so much info off them. We've all heard the "horror" stories of how they were sometimes "recycled"! Anyway I just gave up in the end, (spoiled computer brat!) that's when I thought about buying the CDs. I'm sure the few mistakes in the transcripts don't take away from the great resource these good people have given us. My order is in & I'm eagerly awaiting my little parcel.
