Hazel, Do you have the baptisms of his children? If not and if you would like them, let me know. Further to Len's info. on the marriage, Thomas was shown as a Servant, a bachelor, and of the parish. Mary made her mark and the witness to the marriage was a Mary? BEAL. Thomas was buried at Banbury 15 August 1834, Neithrop, aged 47 which makes his birth date c1787. The first WOODWARD baptism at St Mary, Banbury is that of a George, son Richard, Weaver & Mary on 7 September 1792. Richard was buried 4 April 1805, weaver, pauper and he & Mary seem to be the only WOODWARD family having children baptised at Banbury prior to Thomas & Mary so could well be connected in some way. Richard was married at St Mary, Banbury on 24 July 1791, plushweaver, b. to Mary MAKEPEACE, sp. Mary made her mark and they were both described as of the parish, so no clues there. The witness was John SMALLBONE. Sorry not to have been of more help.
