    3. Hi Rosemary, Thanks for checking out the Bicester, Charlton-on-Otmoor & Bucknell records for me. I have a suspicion this is going to remain a brickwall for a long time to come. The problem is there are so many Gardner's of various spellings around. This particular Robert I am hoping was a builder because his son John was a mason, and the grandson James, born Bletchingdon, was a mason, (famous for building the copula on top of the Sheldonian Theatre in Oxford) married the daughter of a mason and had a son who was a builder.
