WHAT WENT WRONG? Christmas is nothing now older people say, Not like it was in our young days, When pennies were saved from here and there, To provide us with our Christmas fare' Puddings, cakes, and mincemeat made well before, Needing time to mature. Carols and Church for the glory, Of the oft told Christmas story, Our few presents some homemade, Always kept secret till Christmas day, We would wake on that special morn, Long before the light of dawn, To feel a stocking at the foot of the bed, Had santa really been with his sledge. We out grew the legend ithe end, But it was still fun to pretend, Cos it was part of Christmas day, We would not have wanted any other way, Christmas is nothing, dont you agree, Without belief, love and mystery.
