    2. Just a bit more info: Fish St is now George St, and there is still a Wheatsheaf pub there. Buck and Bell was where the Jai Pur Restaurant is now. It moved into North Bar and later became just 'The Buck'. Hit by the recession, it has now closed down for the foreseeable future. Cowfair is the area outside of the Town Hall and Marks & Spencer. There are lots of photos of that area, so someone may be able to track down one of 'The Ship'. I have no idea where it was. I will check my photos for any. 3. Not sure if this helps regarding the location: In the book The History of Banbury by Alfred Beesley there is a note regarding charity collections and it says 'from a corner house in Red Lion street (High Street), the property of John Hopcraft, being the Ship Inn then occupied by John Adams' ----- Original Message ----- From: <irhuckin@aol.com> To: <eng-banbury-area@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, July 02, 2009 4:32 PM Subject: Re: [BAN] The Ship pub HOPCRAFT/ADAMS >I have no obvious?photos of 'The Ship Inn'. > Does anyone know exactly where it was in Cowfair, as I have a lot of the > general area? > Yours, > > > Ian > > > -----Original Message----- > From: irhuckin@aol.com > To: eng-banbury-area@rootsweb.com > Sent: Sat, 27 Jun 2009 16:42 > Subject: Re: [BAN] The Ship pub HOPCRAFT/ADAMS > > > > > Just a bit more info: > > Fish St is now George St, and there is still a Wheatsheaf pub there. > > Buck and Bell was where the Jai Pur Restaurant is now.
