Hi This may not be strictly Banburyshire, but I was hoping someone may be able to tell me where Mongewell is/was in Oxfordshire. Not Banburyshire at all :-) About as far away in Oxfordshire as you can get! Go to www.ofhs.org.uk , and follow the maps link. Download the parish map - you may well find it helpful. Of relevance to this list is that it extends about 2 parishes deep into the contiguous counties. Mongewell's in the grid 7B. Registers from 1660. While we're on parish maps of Oxfordshire, there's actually another one on the same site - interactive - fun -name a parish, and it lights up in red! Go to the home page again, then Search Services, and 6 lines down there's a link to an interactive map.
