Hi List, I have been trying to find some info on Thomas Ward Boss, both to help Carol and for Sue Boss who is a friend in Banbury, related - his mother was Amelia Ward but I can find no clues as to her birth or baptism, she married John Henry Boss on December 25th 1819 IGI Family Search, and she may have been born Neithrop area of town - c1796 father Thomas Ward but cannot be sure of course - any help would be appreciated. As a volunteer at the library, this intrigued me as I could not recall this picture. Sorry to say that we only have a picture of one person hanging on the walls, that of Sir Bernard Samuelson. BUT, what I have found is numerous references to him in the local history publication. If you go the web site for Cherwell District Council, near the top right-hand corner is a search box, DO NOT use this. Click on the 'advanced search'. Then enter your requirement, and put a tick in the 'Cake & Cockhorse' box. This will return a list of PDF's that contain possible info concerning the search. You can then download the edition and find what you are searching for. Remember to search correctly, otherwise dozens of references are found. Your Thomas was a Customs and Excise person by the look of it. Good luck. Enjoy Life. Never promise, but always try.
