Hi all, Can anyone help me to re-gain sanity & offer their advice on the below puzzle Please! At Middleton Cheney I have these marriages ....... 27/9/1735 William Aris & Elizabeth Alebone 26/3/1749 William Aris & Mary Falkner 1/11/1759 William Aris & Mary Goffe Then next door at Chacombe 3/10/1751 William Aris & Mary Aris both of Adston(e) ---------------------------- Wife Elizabeth Alebone was buried at MC in August 1748 after the birth of her 6th child Q - would the 1749 marriage of Wm Aris & Mary F be likely to be her widow remarrying? (taking into account of how the calander ran in 1749) or too soon? Wm Aris & Mary F have 2 children at MC in 1749 & 1751- nothing else for them! There is a burial for a Mary Aris at MC in 1752 Q - now is that Mary (nee Falkner) Aris or Mary dau of Wm & Eliz born 1743 so aged abt 9yrs?? Another option could be Wm & Mary F moved elsewhere & had other offspring. No children showing for a William & Mary (nee Goffe) Aris after the 1759 marriage at MC No children at Chacombe/MC for Wm Aris/Mary Aris of Adstone marriage 1751 (anyone have access to Adstone pr's - see if they are there) Finally how many of these William ARIS's are the same man - or not!? William marrying 1735 is the first mention I have found of ARIS in MC -so where was he from anyway? My brain is buzzing again!! 8>)~ Happy 2010 to all Angela
