    3. Hi Linda, This is the only message that has come through from Banbury list for awhile. I see that I've missed some. I have checked 1861 Census & found family. Found both marr. in Banbury & bapt of children listed in census. Do you have this? I have to run to work, but can send it tomorrow. I'm sending this onlist & to you off list. 1. WALKER / WHITE
    2. Thanks, Angela. The bible entries say Frederick's parents were William Walker & Elizabeth White. The marriage certificate my cousin got shows Frederick's father as James Deeming Walker. I'm confused. A possibility: William Walker married Mary Ann Randle in 1842. Mary Ann died in December 1858. William remarried in June 1859 to Elizabeth White. The only problem is Frederick was born in January 1859??? OR did Mary Ann have Frederick in Dec 1858 and died in childbirth. Birth not recorded until Jan 1859. Then Wm married Elizabeth & she raised her stepson as her own??? Is that possible? But then why is Frederick's father listed as James on marriage cert? OR this William is no relation and I need to go back and restart. At least you've given me some directions for further research. Linda

    3. Hi Ian, Long time no see! No, don't send these folks your hard earned pennies. There's been a big discussion about this on GoONS of late - it's still going on. The company is based in Holland & has sent this offer to all and sundry - lots of us GoONS have received it. I will fwd you the GoONS correspondence on this subject if you like, all pasted into one email? But my advice would be not to touch them with a bargepole. Best Wishes,. 1. Researching WALKER
    2. My great grandfather Frederick James WALKER was born January 21, 1859 in Banbury, Oxfordshire, England. Father was James Deeming WALKER, listed as a tinplate worker when Frederick married Margaret Jane JOHNSON in Chester. Frederick's mother may have been Elizabeth WHITE. His father James may have been blind in later years. We have a lot of eye problems in the family and I was told years ago by an aunt that it's known as the famous, "Walker Squint." Frederick emigrated to USA about 1888, followed some years later by a brother named Arthur. Anyone out there have any possible connections? Linda Goble Jacksonville, Florida, USA LindaG8474@aol.com

    2. A very quick update. ISBN's are to be allocated as follows: Before I forget...... Series 0-954123-6-5 Before I forget...... Volume 1 0-954123-7-3 Before I forget...... Volume 2 0-954123-8-1 Before I forget...... Volume 3 0-954123-9-X If a Volume 4 appears, that will have to have a different name I think. That is all my allocation for this publisher prefix. If I buy another prefix, it is £65. The price has gone up recently!!! I had to go digging through sealed boxes to find them, but I found them! Ian
