Hi there...as you have obviously done some reseach on your family...can you tell us what you mean by "any info". Are you asking for census, baptisms, burial details or deaths..and if so, those of who, in your family tree. I have access to census, others have access to other documents... We are all here to help each other. Look forward to hearing again from you and welcome. I thought I should add that Joseph CRIPPS b. 1807 married Elizebeth GEE (JEE) b.1809 in Chipping Norton in 1828.
Hi all. I am a new member although I have been researching my family tree for a few years. So far, I have managed to go back to Joseph Cripps b. 1807 Chipping Norton. I believe his parents may be John & Patience Cripps. I would be grateful if anyone has any info to help me. Thanks.

Why they came back?.......... When I was very young my parents emigrated from Tasmania to Alberta, Canada. We were there for about 5-6 years. Then emigrated to USA. My memories of Canada mostly involve very Cold winters!!! I never wore a coat the first winter I spent in the states. It just wasn't cold to me! I don't know how cold the winters are in England, But in Canada, we listened to the radio (no TV in those days) every morning to hear if school had been cancelled due to the cold. There were times when school was closed early, and the kids were sent home because of a blizzard. At age 5, I had to walk home in a snowstorm that I couldn't see my hand, at arms length, in front of my face. Don't know how I made it home. Does anyone have info on family that were assisted to emigrate via the Petworth Emigration scheme 1832 onwards Angela
http://www.petworthemigrations.com/index.html Hello Angela, As it happens, my son married a Trussler. The Trussler's were assisted in settling in Ontario, Canada via the Petworth emigration. Trussler's still farm the land they originally settled on in Ontario in the 1830's. Above is a link to more infomation about the project. Hi Grimsbury is now part of Banbury and is the area east of the river, canal and railway station. At one time it was in Northants and was included with Warkworth & Overthorpe for census purposes. Warkworth & Overthorpe are hamlets next door to each over and near Middleton Cheney. All are still in Northants. Middleton Road was the main road from Banbury town centre to Middleton Cheney & Brackley until the M40 was built. Middleton Road is mainly residential and nearly all original buildings. Hope this helps Norina >From: Rosemary Probert <[email protected]> >Reply-To: [email protected] >To: [email protected] >Subject: [BAN] NEW GRIMSBURY WARKWORTH help with location please >Date: Wed, 13 Jun 2007 08:49:15 +0100 > >/Posted on behalf of [email protected] > >Does any one know of this place/ >/NEW GRIMSBURY?/ >/MY gr grandfather/ >/Joseph Collins lived there 1881 census and perhaps 1891 also/ >/44 Middleton Rd New Grimsbury Warkworth/ >// >/I can't find it on my Ordanance maps/ >/I find Warkworth, near Adderbury./ >/any and all help clues etc appreciated/ >// >/Is New Grimsbury now Grimsbury and is it part of Banbury?/ >/north south east or west part of Banbury?/ >// >/Kathleen Collins Hone (now O'Flaherty)/ >/Niagara, Canada/ >// >~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ >http://www.british-history.ac.uk/ >British History Online >------------------------------- >To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to >[email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without >the quotes in the subject and the body of the message _________________________________________________________________ Play your part in making history - Email Britain! http://www.emailbritain.co.uk/
Grimsbury is part of Banbury now, I believe it was a seperate village beyond the river Cherwell at one time maybe in Northamptonshire as the river is the couty boundary in most parts. Middleton road is still there, maybe number 44, and is the main road out from the town centre to Grimsbury. Wark worth is a village beyond Overthorpe. Hi Ann, I think that things are just slow at the moment. In the Northern Hemisphere our friends are busy in the garden or doing other summer things eg. holidays or weekends away. Down at our end we are crouched over the fire, trying to ignore the recent bitingly cold wind or chill drizzle. Across the pond in NSW they are madly dogpaddling to keep their heads above water! So I guess that we are all busy, one way or another. Me? I have been attending to a matter that I volunteered for, also providing some info for a family member travelling to UK today,.and trying to get down to tackling some more census. Everything has been conspiring to prevent me making much progress. I feel as though I am on a treadmill---getting nowhere fast! Family life is busy, too, but so far my new computer is performing splendidly and is a pleasure to use. So you will all be hearing from me when I get myself sorted! Hang in there everybody---our list is only slumbering! A very temporary matter, we hope! Regards, Muriel, (NZ).
Hi Ann here from NZ. Not received any e-mails for about a week. Is the 'list'down?. Ta muchly, though if it's down I still wont get any mail, but at least I will know the answer lies elsewhere. Regards, Ann
Hubert, The death of Laura Annie Flowers, aged 2 years, was registered in Banbury in 1Q 1895 Volume 3a Page 703, which is why she was not on the 1901 census. HI Ann, We have had a spell of very hot (for us) weather, but those Yanks seem to be sending us all their rain for the rest of the week.! Don't know why they can't keep it to themselves! grin I have not done much family history for a bit. I spent the mroni ng boiling up marigold petals to make a dye to paint some pages for a little book I'm making! Not sure I am doing it right... it is very pale. Anyway this is OT! Sorry List Mom!
