I believe it was somewhere in Illinois before the family moved to Kansas. I would also like more detailed information about where George S. Emmert was born and on what date if you have that information. I'm very interested, as well, in where my grandmother, Anna M. McHugh was born on August 30, 1886. I believe it may have been in Iowa, but I'm not even sure of that. It may have been further east. She married Valentine Meacham Emmert, probably in Blue Rapids, Kansas around 1910 or 1911. I believe her mother's maiden name was Popplestone. I would appreciate any information you may have on my grandparents or greatgrandparents. 3. The father of John Leonard Emmert is John George (Jorig) Emmert. There is a will in Berks County, PA that confirms this. To date, John George Emmert's the immigrant village is unknown. Johan Phillip Emmert immigrated from Neckareltz and those church records have been microfilmed by the Family History Library (LDS). Information about his family can be found at nancyemmert.com. No connection between the two Emmert families have been found. Nancy J. Penn. - d. 9 Sep 1804 Washington Co. MD. I have his father listed as John George (Jorig) Emmert. But am uncertain as to its accuracy. Specifically I am trying to find how he is related to a John Philip Emmert from the same area - he was married to a Kamm - Margaret I believe.
