I have been trying for years to find the parents of my g-grandfather ENOCH ELLIS. He was born in 1847 in Lee County, Virginia and moved to Harlan County after marrying MARY NOE, daughter of AMBROSE NOE and ELIZA ANN LANKFORD. Ambrose is the son of CHARLES NOE and Eliza Ann is the daughter of BENJAMIN LANKFORD and SUSANNA POSEY. I have checked the 1830 Lee County, VA census and can find no Ellis' listed so I'm guessing that Enoch Ellis' father was not in Lee County at that time. My second cousin (now deceased) thought that Enochs parents were ABE and ELIZABETH ELLIS possibly coming from North Carolina. I would appreciate any information that anyone has about them.
