Hi, I'm researching my ELLIS family in Preston Co., West Virginia. They are: Joseph R. Ellis (1823-1913) who died in Newburg, West Virginia. He was first married to Henrietta Titlow (1827-1892) in 1845. Next he married Myrtle V. Pyless (b. 1877) in 1898. Joseph & Henrietta had 4 sons & 2 daughters: Charles E.(1846-1921), Eugene C. (b. 1848), Laura E. (b. 1850), Joseph C. (b. 1852) , Lanora Allen (b. 1861), & Lewis Harry (1865-1949). Joseph & Myrtle had 2 sons: Rufus D. (b. 1898) & Wilford Noel Ellis (b. 1906).
