Good Morning. This is a resend of my query of September 16th. I have not seen it come up on the list and am assuming it was one of the ones "lost" to the list problems. I apologize to anyone receiving it more than once. Is anyone researching this William Ellis? I have very limited information: William Ellis, b. about 1755, Virginia [undocumented] married Elizabeth Stanton/Staunton [undocumented] no information on Elizabeth died after 1812 North Carolina [undocumented] The above William and Elizabeth Stanton Ellis were the parents of DELTHIA ELLIS [birth date unknown], who married LEMUEL DeBERRY, born about 1757 NC. This info from the bible of William Ellis DeBerry, born NC 1809, son of Delthia and Lemuel DeBerry. A William Ellis was included in a list of five men who served from Newbern District [p. 34, "Roster of N.C. Soldiers in the American Revolution".] Two others listed were Captain Henry Ellis and Shadrach Ellis, son of Henry. William Ellis of Pitt Co was also in this regiment [DAR Application dated 1915, approved, applicant admitted to membership and assigned National No. 103110.] Papers mention one child, Delthia, who was married to Lemuel DeBerry. It has been SUGGESTED that this William may be an older son of Henry Ellis [b 1735 VA?]; died c1796 Pitt NC, wife Elizabeth. Is anyone able to confirm or deny this? If anyone can add to, subtract from, or in any way alter the above information, I would appreciate hearing from you. Many thanks, LaDoris [email protected]
