Hi Roberta and other Lowestoft ELLIS/WALES/ TURNER researchers. Your Charlotte is the sister of my gg grandfather Edward Ellis b. 18 Jun 1793. Edward and Charlotte were two of the children of Edward Ellis b.1768 at Lowestoft and Frances (Wales) also born 1768. Edward and Francis were married at St Margarets Lowestoft on 15 Sep 1791. This Edward's parents were James Ellis born c,1734 place unknown and Honor/Hannah Smith b.1737. James died 26 Dec 1808 at Lowestoft and Honor died 7 Feb 1819. I believe the Ellises may have come from Kent because of information on Wills that I have and secondly because someone by the name of Stephen H Ellis has reported both our Lowestoft family and Kent Ellises (back to the 1500s) as relatives on the IGI. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to locate Stephen Ellis. I have not traced further back on the Smith's because there are so many entries. I have, however, traced Frances Wales' ancestry. Her parents were Thomas and Elizabeth Wales. Thomas was born Jan 1749 at Carlton Colville. He died 14.3.1809 in Lowestoft. I don't know anything of Elizabeth. Thomas was the son of James Wales and Mary (Turner). James and Mary were married 21 Dec 1731 at Pakefield. James died 10 May 1751 at Carlton Colville and Mary remarried to Thomas Stewart 26 Aug 1751 at Carlton Colville. Regards Jenny
