I don't think your Wm. is s/o Benj. Ellis/Sara Copeland. There are ongoing articles about that group in nearly every issue of the newsletter. I have always thought your Wm. was related in some way to the Methodist Minister crowd coming out of Blount Co. Ala. but have seen no proof. That Methodist group goes back to the Surrey/Sussex Co. VA bunch mentioned here in note by Cindy Hale. Ezekiel Ellis/Peggy Mackey and their young'uns were all in McMinn Co. TN with your Wm. Ezekiel (b 1799) was s/o Jeremiah Ellis/Dicey Murphree of "Murphree Valley" in Blount Co. Ala. (See newsletter article Spring 1993.) Ransom Ellis of Springfield MO has a really good book out on Ezekiel Ellis. If you're interested in that, e-mail me direct and I will give you his address, since he may not want it made public on the internet. Note to Dick Cisco and anyone else hunting for "The Ellis Line From Surrey/Sussex In Virginia" by Miss Dixie McCrary, dec'd.: The book is out of print. LDS library has it. Also the U. at Knoxville TN's Lawson McGee Library. Also Ellis Cousins Newsletter loans it out to people, but you have to be a member in good standing with that group to get on their loan-out list. Address for Ellis Cousins is 1201 Maple St., Friona, TX 79035 Sorry I don't have anything on Brian O'Leary's John Ellis of County Cork, Ireland. Carol in TX
