    3. Hi Ellis Researchers...my sister-in-law, Charley, <[email protected]> and I have been working on the Emily Ann Norred/William Edward Ellis line intensively the last year. For this line of the Ellis family, we are sure back to South Carolina in 1799. (There is a strong possibility that the Reverand John Ellis and wife Catherine Ann McCranie are the parents of William and possibly from Virginia) William and Emily Ann settled in the Conecuh County, AL area in the early 1820s and produced 13 children, 9 of whom lived to be grown and had children of their own. We have lost two of those 9 children...George Thomas b. 2 Feb 1834 and d. 6 Feb 1876 and brother, Thomas b. 14 Nov 1835 and d. 17 Jan 1931...yes, there were two children with the name Thomas in the family...since these two did not appear on the censuses, tax lists, church records, etc., etc., either in Concecuh Co or surrounding counties, we are now assuming they went elsewhere to make their fortune...family records give their birth and death dates, but nothing else...we have checked all the possibilities we can think of....if you can shed any light on either of these two fellows, we certainly would appreciate it....if we can help you with your Ellis line in any way, please let us know. Sincerely, liz ellis - Baytown, TX
