    3. Excellent! I will amply on some of this, if I may. There are four Edward Ellises listed as arriving from England around that time. We cannot trace any farther back with any reliability. >Jeremiah Ellis I born 1643 Scurry county VA b. ca 1643 m 1668 to Mary -?- second wife was Sarah Harvey d. ca 1722 Whack your spellchecker. :) That's Surry county. Although it conjures amusing images... >Jeremiah Ellis II b. ca 1670 m. 1689 to Elizabeth -?- d. ca 1738 >Edward Ellis born circa 1710 1710 or 1712, m. m 1738-9 to Elizabeth -?- d. ca 1784 >Jesse Ellis Sr. born circa 1747 up til now all in Surry co VA John Ellis comes next in this list b. ca 1710 m. ca 1740 to -?- d. 28 may 1793 then Jesse Ellis Sr. b ca 1747 m. ca 1768 to -?- d ca 1818-19 >Stephen Ellis born March 25, 1764 married 2nd Phoebe Moss The book has 1784 but same month/day. m. 11 jul 1813 (2) d. 17 jul 1872 And the rest you've got. We split off at Jesse with my line going through Jeremiah and Dicy Murphree Ellis, Ezekiel Ellis (the namesake of the book) Benjamin Abbott Ellis to Sarah Ellis Jaques, then down through Millard Nathaniel Jaques, Elsie Jaques Sample, Winifred Sample Christiansen and me. I'll get to the rest of the lookups in other posts tomorrow. I have to get the house work done. :) Y'know, had I thought to name this list, a framework upon which we flower and bear fruit... I'd have called it... The Ellis Trellis! Be Seeing You! Sylvia
