My g.g.g.grandfather, Joseph Ellis was born either in VA or GA in 1779, but his wife (all I know is that her first name was Elizabeth), my g.g.g.grandmother, was born in MD so ... he may have passed though MD at some time. By 1820, he was in Wythe County, VA. He had several sons, including Washington, Garland, Henry, Marshall, & Wesley. Susan
