This is a forwarding of the email I got from the people running the site restoring old pictures to their families. Support these folks in every way possible and if you have old photos that are 'orphaned by time' maybe this is the place to go! Our Bill Wilson lived in Ellis County, >Texas, during the time that his photo was taken. He was born in Texas too, >but his parents were born in Alabama. The photo was taken by a Waxahachie >photographer. My information came from the Ellis County 1880 census. It >lists the following family: >BYNUM, ASA, age 73, head, farmer, born Tenn. >WILSON, M. K., 26, daughter, born AL, father-Tenn., mother-Tenn., divorced >WILSON, JAMES A., 9, grandson, born AL, father-AL, mother-AL >WILSON, D. VIOLA, 7, granddaughter, born TX, father-AL, mother-AL >WILSON, WILLIAM D. (or P.), 3, grandson, born TX, father-AL, mother-AL >Bill Wilson was 3-year old William Wilson in 1880. He was born sometime >around 1877. By the time of the 1880 census, M. K. Wilson (Mary Keziah Bynum >Wilson) was divorced and I have not been able to find any genealogies that >tell the first name of her former husband. Mary Keziah's mother was >Cindarella Murphree. I guess she had passed away by 1880. >I also have a photo of Mary Keziah Bynum Wilson, Bill Wilson's mother. I >think it is labeled on the website. I do hope we can match some more of the >unknowns. We have matched two photographs from this group. The first is a >photograph of Catherine Lena Beck Murphree, it is the second unknown below >Bill Wilson. She married Alby Lee Murphree and she was the mother of Hoyt >and Burnetta Murphree (in the second matched photograph). >The photographs were found in an antique shop in Rosenberg, Texas. I think >the source of these photographs is Lou V. Fitzpatrick Murphree. She married >J. Dumont Cornelius Jr. Murphree. Alby Lee Murphree and J. Dumont Cornelius >Jr. Murphree were brothers. Alby and J. Dumont's parents were Aaron >Ashberry Murphree and Sarah Kathryn Cornelius Murphree. I have not found a >link back to Dicy Murphree, but I am sure that there is one. The family tree >is very complex. >So far you are the closest relative I have found to Bill Wilson. Do you know >if Bill Wilson and Dicy Murphree Ellis had children together? Would you like >to have the photographs; or, do you think we should make copies for you and >save the originals for the direct descendants of Bill Wilson? >Thank you for spreading the word of the photographs to other people related >to the families involved. We will eventually match all the photographs with >help. >Janet Sylvia here again. I had mistakenly identified Bill Wilson as having married into my line. I was incorrect and will let her know that. But the conncetions to the Ellis line are possible and I will also share this info with the Murphree group on GenForum so that the word gets out. I want these pictures restored to their families as much as they do! :) This was one heckuva find! Sylvia
