    1. Re: [ELLIS-L] Ellis land grants: Can you help identify them please
    2. Bob Ellis
    3. Linda and list: I found some more information in the Memorandum that relates to your #3 below. Joshua Shelton Ellis, was born at Red Hill (which is in Amherst County and not Albermarle County as another reference states) on 12/20/1787. He was the son of Josia Ellis, who was the eldest son of Charles Ellis, who was the youngest son of John and Susannah of Tuckaho. He sounds like your man! I looked at my handy dandy Rand McNally and Pedlar Mills is just north of Lynchburg, VA in Amherst County but there is no indication of a Pedlar River. I suspect Red Hill is pretty close by. Has anyone been to Red Hill on the list? Powhatan Ellis, the lawyer was born there. Hope this helps Bob At 02:10 PM 4/6/99 -0700, you wrote: >I just found some Ellis's in the Land Office Patents and Grants site and was hoping maybe someone can help identify who they might be, or what family they belonged to: > >1st: >Ellis, Samuel; Ellis, Sary; & Ellis, James >1 September 1783 >Norfolk County >150a.
