Hi, I am searching for Ellis' in the Cleveland/Rutherford Co. NC and York/Spartanburg Co SC. Wales>>MD>>NC I am mostly interested in James Ellis b1735 Kent Co MD,m.Peggy Hopper b1740, and descendants. I have a good deal of information on the line. I am from the area of Shelby, and there are a few researchers from the area. I am interested in finding out more about my GGfather, Zenas Alonzo Ellis b.1821 Rutherford Co. NC d.1905 Cleveland Co. NC. I know he and both of his wives are buried at Patterson Springs Baptist Church,Patterson Springs,NC. I am interested any details of their lives, other than "Farmer" as listed on the census. I have a copy of his obituary, it doesn't say much about his life. Any suggestions on finding any details? I had heard that he may of operated a Mill in the Patterson area. I also heard that he had donated land for either a church or school. I have only birth/death and where he lived. any suggestions?
